Find gratitude and give thanks....
Happy Spring! With or without snow, summer is heading our way~
It's easy to get caught up in the negative things that occur in our lives, having a bad day, disappointments by loved ones, not making as much money as we feel we need to be happy.
It doesn't come as easily to step back and think about all the blessings we have been given. Whether it be good health, family/friends who love us, a roof over our head, food on our table and many other simple things we take for granted daily, we tend to forget to appreciate the joy and beauty around us.
My challenge for each of you today is to find 3 things on this beautiful Wednesday to be grateful for and to give thanks to your God, higher power or parents who gave you the ability to think for yourselves. There are so many wonderful, beautiful and free blessings for us to grasp. Take a look around your office, cubicle, classroom or home, close your eyes, take a deep breath and say thank you. Stay safe and enjoy life!

Winter Wedding~
Just before Christmas I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding in a very unique venue. It was in a 100 year old train station in Durand, Michigan. If you ever have the opportunity to stop in at Christmas time, I highly recommend it. Many businesses in the community rent and decorate trees for their organization throughout the station. There is also a museum and wonderful photographs of early trains and other events in Michigan train history.
While it is beautiful, the lighting for the wedding had me a bit concerned. As it turns out, the photos turned out great. They are unlike any I have taken and they show the uniqueness of the event being held at such a wonderful sight.
This was my first wedding having a 2nd photographer and it was amazing. It made the wedding go so much smoother! Here are some of the shots from the wedding, I hope you enjoy~

Creating unique Thanksgiving Photographs
If you are looking for creative ways to change your Thanksgiving photo album this year; here are some ideas to consider when taking pictures:
- Treat the day as if it's a story. Begin taking shots at the beginning of the day, starting with the food preparation, taking pictures of the items being prepared as well as snapshots of the family members cooking, cutting or chopping.
- Take pictures of the seating arrangements, showing the place settings, silverware arrangements and table decorations.
- Look for candid moments that will reflect the relationship between family members sharing special moments.
- Take pictures from unusual angles, standing on a chair, crouching down and shooting up, anything that will create different and exciting pictures.
We wish your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
